Everything you need to know about your pool
There’s nothing like a cool dip in a deep blue swimming pool - especially on a hot summer day when there’s nothing else to do. It’s the perfect summer activity for adults and kids alike. Many people would love a pool, but don’t really know where to start shopping for one or what to consider. The task can be daunting - but it doesn’t have to be, if you know what to look for.

Many, including the American Red Cross suggest 78 degrees for swimming. If you’ve ever been in a pool or other body of water this temperature, you’ll know it’s rather chilly. This temperature is suggested for competitive swimming, not necessarily every day use. The cold water promotes faster heartbeat, and heavier breathing in order to keep warm. This does work well for competitive swimming, or for exercise, but I’ve always been more comfortable between 80 and 82 degrees F.

Pools can be financed with a home equity line or they can be purchased outright with cash.
Since pools are not cheap, they can range from anywhere between $10,000 for a basic small pool with no decking, and upwards to $100,000 for a swimming pool with rock waterfalls and fountains.
Most homeowners will finance their new luxury with a home equity loan. If you have a little equity in your home, due to the rising costs of homes, you can take out an equity line of credit or a 2nd mortgage.

Summer is a welcome treat, especially if you live anywhere that gets a lot snow over the winter! So when summer arrives, getting the pool open and ready is probably your highest priority, and your family and friends are likely already lined up with their swimsuits on!
Starting your pool up for the season
When starting up the pool for the first time in the season, you’ll need to drain any water in the pool along with any antifreeze you used to keep the equipment free of ice. Then you can refill it, adding the chemicals necessary to continue keeping it clean for the summer.

Swimming is, by far, one of the most popular pastimes in the world. It is also one of the oldest. As an organized activity, swimming dates back to around 2500 BC. Swimming was immensely popular in ancient Egypt, and there are a number of relics from the period which depict the act of swimming in vivid and awe-inspiring detail. In ancient Greece and Rome, swimming was taught to boys as part of their elementary school curriculum. Furthermore, the first known public swimming pools were built in Rome.

Swimming pools offer an excellent way to relax, exercise, and enjoy yourself. They come in different shapes and sizes. To effectively and safely manage a swimming pool, you should have a pump, basin, water filter, chemical feeder, drains, return and the proper plumbing to transport your water.
Depending on the basin structure, there are different types of pools you can select from. Above ground swimming pools are the easiest to install and the cheapest to purchase, because they come with pre-made kits. Fiberglass pools are built using molded fiberglass and they can last for many years.
